Retinyl acetate is a vitamin A analog that induces corpuscle adverse and inhibits corpuscle proliferation.

Retinyl acetate is the acetate ester of retinol. It is chemically actinic from retinol by analysis with acerb anhydride or acetyl chloride in pyridine, or from acetylated intermediates in the amalgam of retinol. It can aswell be produced by metabolically engineered E. coli in a 2-phase ability system, forth with added retinoids such as retinol and retinal.
