Venlafaxine Depression

Multiple bifold dark studies appearance venlafaxine's capability in alleviative depression. Venlafaxine has agnate ability to the tricyclic antidepressants amitriptyline (Elavil) and imipramine and is bigger acceptable than amitriptyline. Its ability is agnate to or bigger than sertraline (Zoloft) and fluoxetine (Prozac), depending on the belief and appraisement scales used. Higher doses of venlafaxine are added effective, and added patients accomplished absolution or were "very abundant improved". The ability was agnate if the amount of patients who accomplished "response" or were "improved" was considered.

A meta-test comparing venlafaxine and accumulated groups of SSRI or tricyclic antidepressants showed venlafaxine's superiority. Judged by the aforementioned criteria, venlafaxine was agnate in ability to the aberant antidepressant bupropion (Wellbutrin); however, the absolution amount was decidedly lower for venlafaxine. In a double-blind study, patients who did not acknowledge to an SSRI were switched to venlafaxine or citalopram. Agnate growth was empiric in both groups.
